Business Development Center Manager


Principal Purpose of Position:

  • Directly oversee the strategic direction and operation of the company’s business development centers (BDCs); participate in the development of BDC strategy
  • Serve as functional subject matter expert on data and analytics, BDC operations, and best practices
  • Predict emerging client needs and participate in the development of innovative solutions to meet those needs
  • Achieve company objectives and initiatives by partnering with supported businesses to drive sales, service, and customer satisfaction results; communicate results to internal stakeholders
  • Able to analyze operations and adjust business model to improve effectiveness or efficiencies, as needed
  • Direct the work of Business Development Center (BDC) management and supervisors including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching, motivating, rewarding, disciplining, and terminating, addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Contribute ideas and effort to the professional development of the team, the improvement of internal processes, the enhancement of BDC offerings/solutions, and the BDC strategy
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.


Mandatory Work Experience:


Experience operating a business development center

Experience in automotive retail (dealership)

Experience managing a team


Education and/or Training:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related field


Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge: 

  • Ability to develop and execute on a business plan- monitor results and make adjustments
  • Advanced management knowledge- how to manage teams in various geographic locations


Communicating & Influencing Skills:

  • Strong communication skills- verbal and written
  • Able to communicate with various levels within the business- customers, employees, management, and senior management
  • Able to lead and motivate a team
